Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is designed to attract skilled immigrants who will contribute to Ontario’s economic growth and development. The OINP has several streams under which applicants can apply for nomination; each stream has its own set of criteria that must be met to qualify for nomination.
A critical factor in determining eligibility for the OINP is an applicant’s National Occupational Classification (NOC) code. In addition to meeting the needs of the specific stream, applicants must also meet general eligibility criteria such as language proficiency, education level, and work experience.
Applicants who meet all the eligibility requirements can apply for nomination through the specific program. Once nominated by the OINP, applicants can apply for permanent residency status with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
